PW: Welcome to the Woodpile, pup! Let's get to know you.
ARTEMIS: Heyyo pups and pals! My name is Pup Artemis, and I’m a 24-year-old Florida pup who loves to read, write, workout, and pup out!
PW: When and how did you become a pup?
ARTEMIS: In 2019 I began seeing people in pup hoods online and got interested, then bought my first hood in 2022 from Amazon. It ended up being too big, so my friend Glenn bought me a set from Mr. S-Leather, which is how my journey officially began. I only recently started doing more research into pup play and am excited to see where my journey takes me!

PW: How did you get your pup name?
ARTEMIS: It just came to me. I felt like Artemis was a name that could represent both my masculine and feminine side, and it sounds so elegant!
PW: Where do you live? Is your city pup-friendly? How big is the LGBTQ+ community?
ARTEMIS: Pensacola, Florida is pup-friendly for the most part. The queer community here is fairly big for the area as well. We’re kinda known as the LGBTQ+ haven of the Florida Panhandle.
PW: Are you a pack pup?
ARTEMIS: I recently joined a new pack and love every pup I’m with so far. But have much to learn about pack dynamics.
PW: Where did you grow up? What was your childhood like?
ARTEMIS: Fort Walton Beach, Florida. It had its ups and downs, but overall it was positive. I was in the Boy Scouts since 6 years old and was always out in nature camping, or swimming at the beach.
PW: It's clear from your social media that you're one hell of a sexy muscle pup. How hard have you worked to get where you are?
ARTEMIS: Very hard. For years I’ve put literal blood, sweat, and (plenty of) tears to get where I am now. Focusing on working out as well as scheduling posts and content on top of a day job can be a lot, but when I remember where I’m heading it seems like a worthy investment. The connections and experiences I have made solidified the importance of this work and lifestyle in my life.
PW: What is your image goal? What does that image mean to you?
ARTEMIS: I want Pup Artemis to be seen as a strong pup physically and mentally, as well as morally. I want to speak out about subjects that matter to people most affected and begin conversations about how to change those circumstances affecting them. I want him to be a figure that can be related to but trusted with your time and attention. This image would reflect how I want to conduct myself as a human as well as pup.

PW: Are you out? Are you out as a pup?
ARTEMIS: Yes and kinda, most my gay friends know, but not my family.
PW: Are you single?
ARTEMIS: Yes.
PW: Are you a wild pup or a snuggle puppy?
ARTEMIS: I can switch between the two, more often than not I’m a snuggle puppy.
PW: What do you feel when you put on your hood?
ARTEMIS: I feel a sense of calm and surrender, yet also control. I feel my thoughts become quieter and I can focus on just being a pup, being happy and carefree (opposite of how I really feel most of the time). It’s like a warm hug around your head that lets you know you’re safe and secure.
PW: What's the most unusual thing you've ever found yourself wearing?
ARTEMIS: My pup hood and skimpy lingerie.
PW: What's the most embarrassing thing that's ever happened to you while in pup space?
ARTEMIS: I’ve never really felt embarrassed while doing anything in my pup space.
“It’s the kindness we show each other and ourselves that makes all the difference in the world.”

PW: If you could have any superpower, what would it be and why?
ARTEMIS: Transforming into whatever I want so I can be a master of disguises.
PW: Do you have any big goals? What's coming in your future?
ARTEMIS: I want to expand my audience and influence throughout all of my social media, providing quality content with value and entertainment. I want to attend DarkLands and International Mr. Leather and become more established in the global Pup and Queer communities as a whole. I will be writing more on my blog and email list. I'll be starting a YouTube channel discussing pup play history, culture, and practice, as well as other topics related to the BDSM community. I plan on setting up interviews with several gear brands I am an affiliate with to show the importance these queer-owned businesses have in our community. If circumstances allow, I want to travel the world to every major kinky hotspot and have the opportunity to learn more and teach what I’ve learned (Berlin and Bangkok mainly).
PW: If you could have dinner and engage in conversation with anyone, real or fictional, who would that be?
ARTEMIS: Atticus Finch.
PW: What's the most challenging aspect of being a pup in your current life?
ARTEMIS: Balancing it with my day job and other personal commitments, as well as the societal pressure of being something so unconventional as a pup. It puts me in a feeling of defensiveness and caution more often than not when I’m in an unfamiliar setting with my pup hood. But that comes from a sense of pride in who I am, and I’m not gonna let some uncomfortable bigot try to tell me what I should and shouldn’t be doing.
PW: You have a lot of fans. Have you had any hater incidents?
ARTEMIS: Not many, but some. Mainly rude comments which I can stand, but I’ve had one serious incident only.
PW: What advice would you give to someone who is just starting their pup journey?
ARTEMIS: Treat it like the gift it is. Pup play is a gift to help us better relate to and understand the world around us while helping us realize more about ourselves. It’s a journey of self-discovery as well as comfort and fun, so treat it lightheartedly but with intention. Decide before you buy gear (unless it’s too late) the pup you want to be. What will be your colors? What will your name be? What will be your defining qualities as a pup (usually just by being who you are)? These are important questions to ask so you won’t have to answer them down the road and you can feel more secure in your image and self.
PW: Finish this sentence: "I really love it when…
ARTEMIS: ...people are kind to each other and stand up for what’s right.”
