Pup Jax ๐บ๐ธ
Weeks ago we sent out a call for pup photos to accompany a recent article about flagging the Color Code in pup gear. The first to respond with a ton of enthusiasm was Jax! We couldn't resist bringing his energy to the Woodpile!

"BORK BORK SQUIRREL BORK!"

PW: Bork Bork, Pupper, and welcome to the Woodpile! Be a good boy, and introduce yourself.
JAX: Awwwwwwrrrrooooo!! My name is Jax, and I'm a new puppy, just beginning my pup play journey. My borkday is December 28th, 2023, but I have loved my journey so far. The further that I explore, the more desire I have to keep going.
PW: What first drew you to the world of pup play? Are there specific aspects that resonate with you the most?
JAX: was first drawn to pup play because I really enjoy kinky sexual encounters, dominant/submissive play, and feel so sexy when I wear gear. I discovered a few years ago that I enjoy being in a submissive watersports role, which is what inspired me to get a yellow pup hood. I liked the anonymity component because it allowed me to lean into more public kink play without fear, especially when I was getting soaked or drinking directly from the tap. However, as I got the hood and began to explore my persona, pup play took on a whole new meaning. It gave me the space to be free, have fun, and be silly. When I put my hood on, I have a sense of liberation that I've begun to really cherish.

PW: What kind of pup do you embody in your play? Do you have a role or a title?
JAX: I strive to always be a good boy. I still don't have a specific role or title, but I look forward to figuring that out over the next few months. I love to service others and be told I'm a good boy.
PW: Do you have a human handler in your play sessions, or do you prefer to go solo?
JAX: I do! My partner has been an incredible handler since this journey began. He is not interested in being a pup but he supports me in my exploration. He has now really enjoyed the control he has as a handler, and loves getting me into headspace, which has brought our relationship even closer. Especially when we're out in public and he gives me a scratch behind my ear or whispers in it to tell me I'm a good boy.
PW: Do you like playing solo or with other pups?
JAX: Most of my journey and pup exploration have been alone or with my partner. I was nervous about wearing my gear out in public, but I was encouraged by some incredibly kind pups in my local community. My nerves were washed away once I met the other pups. I was lucky to find a group willing to show me the way and introduce me to others in the community. I felt instantly bonded with them, and I'm so excited to keep meeting more pups.
PW: Where do you call home?
JAX: I live in Orlando, FL, and it's been helpful and challenging at the same time. We have a large gay community, but the city is still pretty small overall. We don't have many gay spaces, and the fear of running into people I know from my hooman life has prevented me from coming out to pup events sooner.

PW: How does pup play influence your life in the hooman world?
JAX: Pup play has been one of the best things that I've ever done for my mental health. If I've had a bad day, then getting into headspace allows me to reset my intentions and have a sense of freedom and liberation. I've also had a renewed sense of self-assurance. I had been so concerned about what others thought about me and the further along the journey I got, the less I began to care. I know that as long as I feel happy, sexy and confident, I will be in my best headspace to attract the right type of people and pups into my life.
PW: How do you see your life in ten years?
JAX: Wruff! I would love to be part of a pack, and hopefully be a beacon for other new puppies. I see myself pursuing a title at some point. I'm a competitive hooman and definitely see that carrying over into my pup persona once I get comfortable with the community.
PW: What do you like to do outside of your pup persona? Hobbies? Fun distractions?
JAX: I'm on a bit of a fitness journey. Before exploring pup play, I had knee surgery and experienced some isolation, weight gain, and depression as a result of it. The combination of pup play and dedicating more time and thought to my wellness has been huge. I'm preparing to run my 4th full marathon, and I try to hit the gym at least 4 times a week. I love going to the movies, exploring theme parks (a perk of Central Florida), and traveling whenever possible.
PW: If they made a movie of your pup life, what genre would it be, what would be the title, and who would play you?
JAX: It would be a feel-good comedy about self-discovery (with some hot near-x scenes). If it could be anyone, I would pick Taylor Lautner (hehe), and we'd call it Wet Hot American Puppy!
