PW: Welcome to the Woodpile, my friend! Tell us about yourself.

NORTHERN: Hai! Iโ€™m Northern, a bright and bubbly pup from Brisbane, Australia! I am genderfluid and use he/they pronouns.

PW: Where did your unusual pup name come from?

NORTHERN: My pup name came from the fact that I used to be a Scout Leader! The compass points and adventure really resonated with me, and thatโ€™s why I chose Northern!

PW: Are you new to pupdom or are you an experienced critter?

NORTHERN: My pupday is the 10th of March, 2023. Iโ€™m new to the community. I have been very active and prominent in my local PAH since the start of the year, and Iโ€™m loving it!

PW: Tell us about your hood. Your colors?

NORTHERN: My hood! Light blue is my favourite colour, and all the piercings on it are either the piercings I already have or future piercings I would love to have. I bought it from Pup Rex. I also have a black and cobalt blue K9 hood, which is now retired.

PW: Do you identify with a canine breed?

NORTHERN: I sure do! My pupsona is a Husky-cross Aussie. So a big goofball, but hella energetic.

PW: Where do you live? Would you say itโ€™s a good community for pups?

NORTHERN: I currently live in Brisbane, Australia. To say the pup community here is AMAZING is an understatement. They are all so caring, loving, and accepting of everybody, regardless of your identity.

PW: Where did you grow up? What was that like?

NORTHERN: I grew up in a little country town called Gatton, about an hour and a half west of Brisbane. It was definitely a struggle, with the farming community out there not being overly accepting of someone who was openly Queer. It did make me a tougher person though.

PW: What do you do for a living in the human world?

NORTHERN: I am currently unemployed but will be studying Youth Work in 2024.

PW: What do you like to do for fun? Any hobbies?

NORTHERN: I crochet, I sew, and I draw! Crocheting has been a huge part of me. I like to create little mini crocheted versions of peopleโ€™s hoods, make presents for people, and make new hats and accessories I can wear with my hood!

PW: What is your ethnic background? Is your cultural identity a part of who you are in and/or out of the hood?

NORTHERN: Iโ€™m Australian, born and bred. My cultural identity doesnโ€™t affect me inside or outside the hood.

PW: Would you ever want to be famous? Why and how?

NORTHERN: I really do think that being famous would be an overwhelming experience for me, even though I would love to be famous. I have a heavy interest in musical theatre, so I would love to be a performer on the Broadway stage one day!

PW: Do you have a good sense of humor? Are you funny?

NORTHERN: To be honest, I have a very bad sense of Dad humour. This is due to growing up in a little country town and most not having a wild sense of humour.

PW: Do you ever wear your pup hood in public? How do you feel? What kind of reaction have you gotten?

NORTHERN: I do quite often. Our local PAH does a lot of public events, such as Dinner and Walkies, the local Pride March, and collaborating with other local kink events. At first, I was extremely embarrassed to wear it outside, but I slowly grew to not care about what others think. People have actually barked at me in public, and I usually just bark back at them!

PW: Are you out in your human life? As a pup?

NORTHERN: I am not out in my human life, due to the backlash I would get from my family.

PW: Are you single? Partnered?

NORTHERN: As of right now, I am single. Sadly, every handler I have had ended badly. I have gone through a number of them.

PW: Are you more attracted to pups or people?

NORTHERN: I'm attracted to anyone, as long as you make a connection with me first. I am pansexual, so gender, sexuality, or race don't make a difference to me.

PW: If you could have one superpower, what would it be? Why?

NORTHERN: If I could have one superpower, it would be teleportation. So I can meet all my online, international friends without having to spend a fortune on travel.
