PW: How did you get your pup name?
TAZER: I love this name. It matches my pup character perfectly. A friend came up with it from some root words:
Ta(m): Perfect
Zer: Male
Tazer: Police taser gun, also Germanic roots words for watchguards
PW: Your Instagram profile tells me little about you. Muscle. Sexy. Lightsabers?
TAZER: Well, I borrowed the lightsabers from another coser at Halloween night back in Shanghai in 2023. It was only meant for a cool picture.
All my sexual (or non-sexual) kinks/preferences are based on or extensions of power, muscle, protection, control, leadership, heroism, self-sustainability, freedom, etc. I want my friends or Instagram followers to think I am a sexy, powerful, strong, reliable, and loyal pup.

PW: How did you first get introduced to pup play?
TAZER: Actually, no one introduced me to this. It was 2020, the first year of COVID. And I was so bored being quarantined at home, browsing shopping websites randomly. Somehow, the website recommended a pup hood for cosplay, which triggered another hidden part of my brain. I bought it without hesitation, and I have loved living in the hood ever since. It was about a year later I realized that I am not alone. Then I start taking it more seriously and figuring out what being a pup really means to me. To be honest, I am still exploring.
PW: When did you realize there was no going back?
TAZER: I think it was the moment I showed up in my pup gear at a public Halloween party in 2022. Even among all the characters that people dressed up as, I got the most attention from the crowd. People kept coming up and asking to take pictures with me. It was such a crazy night, and I loved being a cheerful puppy for the crowd.
PW: What type of pup do you aspire to be? Are you turning that aspiration into reality?
TAZER: I want to be a cheerful, reliable, and loyal pup who can protect and lead my family, friends, and pack. I aim to be a fierce, intimidating, and menacing pup to any unfriendly beings. I believe I am achieving my goal. Every week, I make new friends and try to prepare for any future misfortune.
PW: You're quite the formidable beast. Do you consider yourself a muscle pup? How hard have you worked for what you have?
TAZER: I want to be a very powerful pup. Being muscular is just one aspect of being powerful. I work very hard in the gym, trying to gain as much muscle as possible. It is difficult for me to maintain my current body weight, let alone gain weight because I am naturally thin. I am currently 177cm (5'10'') tall and weigh 92kg (203 pounds). When I first started working out about ten years ago, I weighed only about 65kg (145 pounds). Even now, if I go on a business trip and stop working out, I lose about 2kg (5 lbs) per week. Still, my goal is to reach about 100kg (220 pounds). Letโs see how long it will take me to be there.
PW: How does an image of a sexy beast match up with your self-image?
TAZER: Well, I enjoy feeling my muscles pump out of my shirts and pants, especially after a good workout. It also boosted my confidence in life and work. I enjoy this image (though it occasionally causes problems in public because some other males become defensive and difficult because my presence threatens their ego, and some females become hostile even if I did nothing). I find the image of Buck, the dog from Jack London's The Call of the Wild, who transformed from a spoiled family dog to a wild wolf in Alaska, very appealing. This character matches my self-image very well. Or maybe I should say that this character shaped my perception of being a pup. As a teenager, I disliked my self-image. I was a thin, nerdy boy with glasses who occasionally got taken advantage of. I wanted to be smart and strong (perhaps like Beast from X-Men).
PW: Are you wild in your pup-play or a cuddle monster?
TAZER: I am wild. But it mostly depends on the situation, or perhaps the vibes of the occasion. I have wanted to cuddle and play with some other big muscle pups for a long time but never had the opportunity. I will keep dreaming and expanding my pup network, hoping it will come true someday.
PW: Are you single?
TAZER: Yes. I do not have a master or handler. I am a free wolf on my own leash. I do not give my leash easily, and I am not easy to handle either.
PW: Are you out? Are you out as a pup?
TAZER: If any of my friends or colleagues ask, I will tell them I am gay. Not immediate family members. I am out as a pup with a small group of friends who understand what it is all about.
PW: What attracts you most about putting on the hood?
TAZER: Putting on the hood means I can switch to another personally. It is fun and sexy, and helps me forget a lot of troubles and pressures in the human life. When you learn a new language, you open a whole new world to yourself. You build a new identity, you also open a whole new world to explore.
PW: Where do you live? Is your city pup-friendly? How big is the LGBTQ+ community?
TAZER: I live in San Jose, California. There are many pups here, and the entire Bay Area is a large LGBTQ+ community. There are many things here for me to explore, as I have only recently started attending pup events.
PW: When somebody talks about you, what do you want them to say is your best quality?
TAZER: Power. In a good way, not as an evil villain. I am still working on it though. It is not something that comes easily.
PW: Are you a pack pup?
TAZER: No, not now. I would like to try being in a pack. I am not sure what it is like or what it means to be in a pack. Some pups believe it is toxic due to its hierarchy or potential for bullying, while others believe it provides a home for them as part of a pack. I think I should try to reach my own conclusion.

PW: Do you have any big goals? What's coming up in Tazer's future?
TAZER: Nothing major. Just keep working on my human professional career, gain more muscle, and discover what Tazer and the entire pup world mean to me. I am quite adaptable and explorative. Letโs wait and see how things turn out.
PW: What do you like to do outside of the pup world? Do you have any hobbies? Sports? Music? Art?
TAZER: I enjoy driving my car on road trips to new places or simply traveling. I enjoy movies and music (I have a wild playlist). I enjoy working out and building muscle. I hate (yes, hate; I do not watch them, and I despise people discussing them) any sport involving a ball in which the number of balls is less than the number of players.
PW: What would you do if you inherited a billion dollars tomorrow from a long-lost aunt who left you in her will (sorry, Auntie)?
TAZER: A billion is far too much. I can make it work for much less, say one million. I would improve the quality of my life with a small portion of it (yes, I live a minimalist life, and shopping is never my source of happiness). Then make diversified investments for the rest of it. After that, just keep going.
